Maria Soledad Romero, M.D. joins us from Johns Hopkins Hospital where she was an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute. She is a comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in medical and surgical eye care for the family with an emphasis in cataracts, corneal conditions and disease, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and adult strabismus.
Dr. Romero received her medical degree from the University Catolica Cordoba, in Argentina, and completed an ophthalmology residency at the Hospital Santa Lucia, in Buenos Aires. She additionally completed a Fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, and subsequently an additional residency internship in General Surgery and ophthalmology at LSU/Ochsner in New Orleans.
Prior to joining Total Vison, Dr. Romero was an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute. Dr. Romero also worked in private practice specializing in comprehensive ophthalmology in Silver Spring, MD.
Dr. Romero is fluent in Spanish and English and sees patients at Overlea Personal Physicians, Lutherville Personal Physicians and Woodholme Medical Center.
